The volume of grain transshipment in Ukrainian seaports and transportations on the Dnipro river significantly increased

In January-February 2020, port operators carried over 27 million tonnes of cargo.

This is almost 4 million tonnes (17%) more than last year in the same period. This was reported by the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine.

In the first place in terms of transshipment - was grain cargo, which amounted to over 9 million tonnes, which was almost 9.5% more than in the same period last year. Moreover, over 97% of the volume of grain was the export of Ukrainian agribusinesses products.

Positive changes also apply to the Dnieper shipping routes: the number increased 9.2 times compared to last year. The indicator was influenced by the continuation of the river traffic in winter. In January-February, 483 thousand tonnes of cargo were transported. In the first place - grain. The volume was 221.4 thousand tonnes, which is 3.3 times more than in 2019.
